Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. program or the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Northwestern University and must have completed the first year of the Ph.D. program at NU
- The proposed thesis research must be focused on regenerative engineering
- Applicants must have identified and confirmed their 3-member mentor team, which must include a clinical faculty member affiliated with Northwestern University
- The applicant must be a US citizen, US national, or permanent resident at the time of the application
- Students must rotate 3 weeks, 2 or 3 hours per week, with a potential clinical mentor (or part of their potential mentor's team) to be eligible to apply

- Curriculum vitae and NU transcript
- A 1-page career development plan describing the applicant’s career goal, proposed mentor team, and proposed training activities including research, courses, clinical immersion and industrial internship experience.
- A 2-page research proposal describing the regenerative engineering project, including rationale, significance, preliminary data if available, objectives, and approach
- A 1-page description of prerequisite rotation experience detailing case studies discussed, grand rounds attended, clinicians or patients you interacted with, projects that you were involved in. In addition, explain how the experience influences your research or career objectives in pursuing regenerative engineering
- Letter of support from the primary mentor that includes the endorsement, role, and support of the other two proposed mentors that will complete the composition of the applicant’s mentor team
